3-Step Preservation

Collect, Fix, and Store

Collect Blood

Collect at least 2 mL of blood into a 4 mL vacutainer at the clinical site and invert 10x.

Fix Sample

Transfer 2 mL of blood to Buffer 1; incubate at room temp for 15 mins.

Store in Freezer

Transfer 4.8 mL of sample to Buffer 2; store at -80°C or ship on dry ice.

Teiko has performed a titration for each antibody clone on this list and determined an optimal staining concentration, based on staining index, arcsinh ratio, positive/negative separation, and spillover into neighboring channels.

Can TokuKit measure absolute cell counts?

Yes, Teiko integrates complete blood counts from your central lab with cytometry data from TokuKit-fixed samples to calculate absolute cell counts.

Collect two aliquots of blood

One sample is preserved with TokuKit for cytometry, while the other is kept fresh for hemoanalysis.

Process aliquots separately

The fresh sample is sent to your central lab for hemoanalysis to measure leukocytes per µL, while the TokuKit-fixed sample is sent to our lab for cytometry.

We integrate the data

Our computational pipeline derives absolute cell counts by multiplying population frequencies with the leukocytes per µL value, then displays the results on the dashboard.

TokuKit Pre-Fixation Stability Data

Can't immediately process samples with TokuKit?

If necessary, fresh whole blood samples can be kept at room temperature for up to 9 hours in EDTA vacutainers, or up to 5 hours in Sodium Heparin vacutainers, before processing with TokuKit.

Don't have access to a -80°C freezer?

If necessary, TokuKit-fixed samples can be stored at 4°C for up to 14 days before transferring to a -80°C freezer.
